| Got one of the rule charts done...the English one, obviously. It's 10x8 squares in-game...quite larger then the old one. As you can see, the rules were slightly changed, to make them fit better, but the most obvious thing is I omitted "Don't doorkill" rule since I dunno whether its allowed or not, nor do I care for punishing it (I doorkill CT's alot...its a good tactic). I'll now work on the Portuguese one...if anyone wants to translate these rules here, they're free to, and I'll use them, but if not, I'll just stick with the rules Sektor translated for me. | |

| If I were to do a fourth language...it would probably be Turkish, since I see so many Turks on CS2D. But with the little time I have to do the Portuguese and German ones, and some things I wanted to add in the map just now, a fourth translation is probably unlikely. And uh, if no one can fix up the German, I'll just go ahead and use the translations I made...at least they get a somewhat sufficient translation. =/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alrighty, done with Portuguese, check it out... Point out any errors if you see them, its no problem editing the rules for even the smallest mistake. | @Sektor, there are reasons I couldn't use those, as some were too long to fit properly on the image, and I added in things that weren't in your translation. You could check the rules I have though, and correct grammatical errors with those. I'm not gonna make those. BUT, if you want to make them yourselves, you're all free to do so, and I'll put them on the map (you'll be credited) if you want. Of course, it has to look good, and it has to fit with the ones I'm doing, so here's some info you'll need to make 'em... - I use Paint.NET, nothing else, so use that or GTFO (jk, but I wont help you with other editors).
- You should know how to work with layers, as that is very important.
- You should know the language you wanna do, or have someone who does know check it over for errors.
- The rules are sized at 320 width, 256 height (pixels).
- There are only two colors: A dark red (165,000,000 RGB), and black, which is the background.
- The font on the top and bottom is Pricedown (GTA Font), sized at 20p. No bolding, italicization, or underlines.
- The font in the middle (rules) is AAS Machine Font, sized at 12p. It is bolded, but nothing else other then that.
- You need to make sure the text fits neatly. With the top and bottom texts, you can resize as long as it looks neat and you center it good, but with the rules, don't resize them at all. If a certain rule is too long to fit on a certain line, you could try shortening it by removing unnecessary words or using smaller words. If its too short to the point where it doesn't look good, do the opposite. Do not make a rule longer then one line, as it's already a tight squeeze as it is, and smaller rules would be harder to read.
- USE LAYERING. Very important, as it will save a lot of time and aggravation (which will lead to ragequit). It is a must to make sure the text on the rule charts on each language are in the same positions and the same size, to make it transition neater. Here's a mini-guide on how I did so when working with the Portuguese chart.
How to change basic text in an image...for dummies. (my way of doing it, really)Say you have "Derp." as a text on an image you want to change to "Hurp.". Since Derp is part of the image, it wont be as easy as backspacing and typing out the new word, especially if you want Hurp to be in the EXACT same position as Derp (considering they are the same size). First, create a new layer over the original image. Now type out Hurp, with the same size and font as Derp. Focus on positioning the H in Hurp over the D in Derp so that the left-most and bottom pixels in both letters are in the same place. By doing this, everything else obviously goes in place...BUT NOW YOU HAVE BOTH HURP AND DERP ON EACH OTHER. To keep it PG and avoid some messy letter sex, select the layer with Derp (the original image) and just Rectangle Select over the whole word, and fill it in with the background color (black, if your working on the rule charts...and have Tolerence set to 100%). Now, only Hurp should be left, with no Derp to intervene. In the rule charts case, Derp should be the text on the English rule chart, and Hurp should be the language you're doing. Remember, do this with each line of text, NOT the whole damn thing...you can't do that with multiple fonts anyways. Actually, now that I think of it, maybe you could do it with the all the rules at once...idk, just don't forget the hyphens. I guess that's it...if you find a new magical way other then mines, then do that...idc really, as long as it looks neat. | |
