| Yea, so I've recently got back into MineCraft, as I'm currently attempting to build a super awesome base that goes deep into a hill and underground (might add lava). The problem I'm experiencing isn't lag or framerate issues...I get like 120 fps so that's all good. The problem is every time I break a block, the gameworld disappears for like a second then reappears...almost like someone used one of those x-ray mods to find ores. It's VERY annoying and sometimes it can go as long as ten seconds, making it hard to see what I'm breaking. I even fell in lava once because of it.
Anyone got an idea to fix this without re-installing MineCraft? It's not that I don't want to, but I'd prefer a solution that won't require that.

| Never experienced this problem before... the only kind of glitches i get is that when i blow up TNT i can see like 100 blocks below for a nano-second.
do you have any mods installed?
do you have minecraft legit?
Deleting everything in the .minecraft folder and letting Mc DL it again seems like a wise choice.
Also see if your graphics settings could have anything to do with it.

| I have no mods except the latest Optifine (MultiThreaded, as the normal one doesn't perform as well) installed, and it's definitely not legit (you think I'd actually BUY a computer game?). I have a somewhat large collection of texture packs, but I mostly use John Smith. As for graphics settings, here's a breakdown of what they're set to... - Spoiler:
Graphics - Fast Render Distance - Tiny (I don't need a far view...I'm just building a base) Smooth Lighting - 100% Performance - Max FPS 3D Anaglyph - Off View Bobbing - On GUI Scale - Normal Advanced OpenGL - Fancy Brightness - Bright Clouds - On Fog - Fancy Fog Start - 0.8 Mipmap Level - Max Mipmap Type - Linear
And in the Other section... (Animations and Details don't seem important, but most of them are On/Default)
Smooth FPS - On Smooth Input - On Fast Debug Info - On Debug Profiler - Off Load Far - Off Preloaded Chunks - 8 Chunk Updates - 5 Dynamic Updates - On Weather - On Time - Default Far View - Off Autosave - 3min
And here's are two screenies of it happening, resized for your convenience. First, I looky here and examine this beautiful piece of wood I'm about to break into oblivion. *break* OH SHIET As you can see...THIS happening (for about a 1 to 10 seconds) every time I break a block is quite annoying. I guess since nobody has a clue how to fix this, I might as well take the "Fuck it all" approach and just reinstall MineCraft.

| OpenGL / Texture pack might have something to do with it, otherwise re-install would be a wise choice, but dont forget to back up your saves etc. | |

| Hurrdurr. Directly from the forum post on Optifine Multi-Core - sp614x wrote:
- If you have problems with flashing or transparent blocks you can try:
A. Disable "Threaded Optimization" in the graphics control panel B. Enable "Vertical Synchronization" in the graphics control panel or set the option Performance to VSync. =/ Should've read the post...it's AW RIGHT now, so we donez here. (Btw, as a Mod, can I lock topics, and if so, how exactly can I lock this? If I can't...someone else lock it, as I already fixed the problem.)
